Sandy Koufax

During their infamous 1966 lookout, Sandy Koufax and teammate Don Drysdale signed movie contracts, demonstrating to the Los Angeles Dodgers that they were quite serious about retiring from the league if they did not meet their $1 million demands (over three years of course). Here's a link to the movie they never made, for your reference: Warning Shot.

Koufax would have rather quit the sport he loved than be under-compensated; that kind of market savvy will always be admired by this organization.

Sandy Koufax is one of the Institute's most respected sportsmen because he knew his own value as a player.
